Chelsea's sewing!
This sewing machine has been sitting in the box for about two months now. I'm a slacker! Plus I was just scared and overwhelmed to start. The whole threading thing just seemed beyond me, so I was waiting for my mom to come to town so she could help me. Then I had some time on my hands today and thought, what the heck? Might as well try, right? I learned two things:
1. Apparently sewing machines come with manuals and they teach you how to thread. Who knew?!
2. I married a man who knows sewing machines. How didn't I know that? I'm all, "Argh, I can't figure out how to thread this stupid bobbin. Here's what the manual says..."
And then he's all, "Oh, you just do this and this and this..." while threading the bobbin for me.
Then I'm all, "How do I do the reverse sewing thing?"
And he's all, "Just hit this lever."
What?!
LMAO! Yet another thing Jon and Tim have in common. I am a TERRIBLE sewer. It was the only class I ever got a C in in middle school. :) Jon, on the other hand, is rather handy with a sewing machine. I love this about him.
ReplyDeleteP.S. That's very cute fabric you're using! :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the same way!! His mom used to sew all the time and he used to sit and watch. I am getting better, but I am still not great at it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should hire Tim to do some contract sewing for EKC? ;)
ReplyDeleteAnne - I'm so not surprised! They do have lots in common!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - Really? Your husband, too? Wow, who knew all these men were handy with a sewing machine?!
Erin - Haha, yes, totally!
