Let's just be honest. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Okay, now that that's out of the way, I feel like you might judge these a little less harshly. I installed a trial version of Photoshop Elements to see if I feel like shelling out the big bucks for Photoshop or if PE will suit my needs. Then I just played around like a helpless newborn baby, new to the world but basking in the excitement of it all.
But like I said, I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Can someone please critique me - brutally?
Brightened up, tried to make the colors pop a little more:
Just b&w with some eye brightening and "air brushing":
These are kind of vintage-y, lightened up, a little pink (some eye brightening):
I think they look great!! Very good, especially for a first-timer!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would mention is to be careful with "air-brushing." Make sure you adjust the opacity of the brush and use a very light touch. There are also other ways to air-brush without making it look blurry or fakey, and you can always find tutorials to them all over the place online. Online tutorials are the BEST!! I don't know where I'd be without them!
Thanks Karen!!! I've been bookmarking some tutorials lately. Can't wait to dive in!
ReplyDelete1. I like the editing done on the pictures, especially the first one with the way the laundry basket's bright colors were amplified. It's dramatic!
ReplyDelete2. Adalyn is holding her head up like AWESOME! And is that a real smile or just a lucky shot? Soo cute!
Thanks Anne! That was just a lucky shot, but she's given us a few real smiles lately! I love watching them grow.
ReplyDeleteAnd PS - I'm looking into Aperture! Thanks for the suggestion! :)
