A Week in Review

It's been a busy week here at The Blue Swirl!  I've been getting my craft on.  There are moments when my sewing machine goes berzerkers (yes that is a word, in case you were wondering) and I have to rip out and re-sew a hem eight thousand seven hundred and ninety-two times and it's 2:00 a.m. and I'm, like, tired, ya'll.  And in those moments, I might cry just a little bit.  But I promise you, despite the tears, I am having so much fun!

So let's take a look at a little bit of the fun I've had this past week:

Headband for my friend's daughter who won't wear the elastic, around-the-entire-head ones.  I have three more to make in different colors.  Squee!

Ready to go!

My insanely cute kids.  Their 4th of July swag.

I tried my hand at baby shoes.  It was really, really, really difficult, hair-pullingly-hard, time-consuming fun.  And I mean that.  Heh.  Maybe I'll keep practicing these and sell them at some point?  Time will tell.

Yesterday was one of these kinds of days:

Maybe it's his molars?  I don't really know.  But then I bribed him with Twizzlers and asked him to show mommy his tie.  YES, I was that mom.  But I try to only be that mom 3 out of 365 days a year.

It worked.  Sort of.

Also I had some leftover fabric so I made a little teeny newborn skirt that gave me baby fever.  Whoops.

Now I just need a newborn to put this on.  Takers?

Working on a few new sections of the shop...stay tuned!

  1. I can only imagine how difficult those shoes must be, but I think they're cute enough to sell...NOW! Too bad I don't have a girl to put them on.
