You might not be happy to know what my decision is.*
That's right, I'm choosing diapers. And here's the thing - while diapers are a necessity, they are no longer a necessity in our house. We have plenty of them, I'm just not happy with most of them. Tim loves the gDiapers and while I've always raved about them, I'm liking them less and less these days. I think it's because I have mostly the old-style g's, and he's pretty much grown out of the large's already (And he's a shrimp! I don't get it!). I feel like I can never get a good fit and even though we don't have leaks, I hate seeing little indentations from the snaps on his skin. :(
So I'm leaving the g's for Tim and I'm stocking up on my favorites. After buying a bunch of new brands a few months ago, I've finally figured out what I like most. My opinion on the matter seems to change weekly, but I think my two month test run has given us some good information.
First up, AppleCheeks!
I was iffy about these at first because they seem a little girly with the "ruffle" appearance at the legs and top of the diaper. But these diapers are awesome! We have never had a leak, the envelope system means you don't have to dig the insert out since it will come out in the wash, and the elastic is in perfect shape! I'm getting more of these along with some Superdo inserts so that we can finally do away with our nighttime disposable diapers. I've heard that pairing a Superdo with a microfiber insert will hold even the heaviest wetter. I'm so excited to try!Next up, the BumGenius Organic AIO.

I was even iffier about these diapers because I've had some bad luck with BG's in the past. I despise aplix/velcro and our BG's were ruined in no time flat. The elastic wore out quickly and we were soon getting leaks every time we wore the old BG pockets. I couldn't resist giving these AIO with snaps a try, even though they're on the pricey side. And I am SO glad I did! This is, by leaps and bounds, my all-time favorite diaper. It takes longer to dry than others, but I wash them at night, hang them to dry and toss them in the dryer for ten minutes in the morning and they're ready to go. Plus, there's no stuffing! I just throw them right on the babe and go! AND the elastic is still as perfect as it was when we bought them! In fact, the diaper still looks brand new and I've been using the heck out of it for two months. The only fear I have is that Ben will outgrow them before he's pottytrained, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be pottytrained early enough that it's not an issue. :)
*Disclaimer: I bought myself a pair of Rock & Republic jeans two months ago, so that kind of sealed the deal for me. I don't really need another pair. Especially since I plan on losing ten pounds and dropping one more size. No need to buy jeans until that happens, right?
